Greetings!

Welcome to my first of many blogs about launching and practicing in my new firm: Somen Law Firm, LLC.  I am a novice at this sort of thing so take from the posts what you will (and take it easy on me).

It seems appropriate that a discussion of my adventure to “open my doors” is appropriate here.  However, rather than bore the world with the sordid details suffice it to say it has been bittersweet (and downright scary) to move away from my legal home at McFadden & Dillon, P.C. for the past 14 years. Nevertheless, without the experience gained and mentorship from my former supervising attorney, colleague and friend, Tom Dillon, I would not be sitting here typing this post today.  For that I am beyond thankful. A few things that I learned and had drilled into my head as a new practicing attorney were simple: be prepared and pay attention to detail.  It sounds almost cliché, but it is dead accurate.

Being prepared and paying attention to detail have gotten me and this new firm to finally jump off the cliff and take flight.  From the organizational setup, the office scouting, the relationship building, the (UGH!!!) technology setup, the outfitting of supplies, even down to selecting a name for the business the preparation and attention to detail have helped every step of the way.  I look forward to, once again, bringing those seemingly simple skills to my daily work to ensure the Firm’s clients’ needs are met fully and faithfully.  I am committed to bring that work ethic to the Firm and looking forward to the new adventure.  If you’re in need of help and I can help you, I will.

Anyway, well wishes and prayers are most welcome.  Feel free to stop in, give me a call or send me an email sometime even if just to say “hello”.  Take care and if you need me, I’ll be here.

Here’s to the future and let’s get to work...
